A Sad Day.......

It has been a couple of weeks that we've been walking by these boots just sitting on the floor next to Mack's bedroom door and I have finally taken a minute to document a little piece of history. These boots are 32 years old. They were something of mine that my mom saved in her cedar chest. When Liberty and Breezy were born some of these old things resurfaced and we used them on token occasions. Liberty had a super cute denim dress she wore with these boots when she was 1. Then they would get used now and then. Burton came along and he wore them once to the Buckaroo Rodeo but not much more than that. Then this past winter they resurfaced again for the twins. Probably for Cooper because they were on the big side for them both. But when Mack looked at these boots the fight was on. They were HIS and to make sure of that he never took them off. (They have a smell that wasn't there 32 years ago.) He wore them to bed, to get his tonsils out, church, and everything else. When the temperatures started climbing he wore them with shorts but for some reason he set them aside in July to wear his crocs. The tears started coming the eve of the buckaroo when it was difficult to shove his little foot inside. They are a tight fit but he wore them to their final buckaroo, he has worn out the inside, and formed cracks on the outside. Here is to those little boots!

I loved this post Kellie for so many reasons. First off it is awesome that these are boots that you wore over 32 years ago and that fact that Liberty wore them and that Burton wore them is also great.

But I really love how your little guy took a love to them and made them his. It sounds like they have been well loved and well used and even with the smell and their condition hopefully you will still keep them :)
