Spending our Happy Dayz at preschool

Treacherous ice after trudging through slush and mush .....perfect for welcoming preschoolers:)
The water over ice mess the kids step in as they come to preschool. I just love this mess!
Teaching the children about TEETH as part of Dental Health Month. Mary is a dental assistant and willingly comes every year to teach the kids. She brings them an awesome goody bag with all the supplies to pretend they are a dentist. The kids love it!

To break up the dull winter month of January we Learned the letter S & T with a semi truck. It also worked great with the concept Big & Small. Kimball's dad Todd was great to stop by preschool and let the kids see the Big Truck. The kids loved the bunkbeds inside, the refrigerator, the button on the seat that moves it up and down, and seeing if they were taller than the Big wheels.

We LOVE to Celebrate Valentine's Day!

This is what Cooper's been up to these days. A little scary. He empties the kitchen drawers at least 5 times a day.
Mack trying out the swing he got for their Birthday. Loved it! We have cabin fever and want to be outside.
President's Day ...... Burton showing us his orange tongue from drinking LIVE WIRE Mountain Dew pop Drew loves and I'll blame him for leaving an open can in the fridge. It certainly wouldn't have been me. My nephew Sam gave a cute Valentine with a can of LIVE WIRE (it is loved by the whole park family) the valentine said something like "I DEW love my teacher" cute and Sam thought it was hilarious.

Liberty finally getting to learn to sew on her very own mini Janome she got for her Birthday in June. We saved it for a special day like today! She began sewing traced lines on construction paper and later found a scrap piece of fabric.

Valentine's Day I made glitter playdough that smelled like strawberries for our days celebrations. Camber and I had traded babysitting so we could each sneak off with our Sweethearts for awhile. This was my activity to entertain all the kids. This is Burton playing with playdough passing strep throat. Didn't even know he was sick. All of the sudden he starts crying and I feel his head and he is burning up. NO Complaints about anything. I give the meds and he is fine until Sunday morning and I happen to see him swollow like his throat hurts. So when Drew came home from meetings it was off to the doctor. I am such a good babysitter. When you come you get strep throat. :)

I wanted these placemats from target before the holiday but couldn't get myself to buy them full price. I wanted until last Saturday when TARGET had all Valentine stuff 90% off. I bought them for $.19 the only problem was I could only get 7 and I wanted 8 ( just in case we had visitors for dinner). Between Camber, My mom, and myself we bought and the remaining placemats. I LOVE the clearance at TARGET!

Listening to a favorite cd while moving onto the next activity of making sugar cookies ......Mama Mia.

While we made boxes the boys went skeet shooting. I packed a lunch for them and sent a huge bag of cheese puffs ( the kids got me to buy one of those huge buckets of them from Sam's). The little boys ate all the sandwiches and cheese puffs while the big boys shot guns.

The Saturday before Valentine's Day & Miss Breezy's Birthday Melody came for a visit. The kindergarten teacher's had sent a note home telling of the festivities and Valentine Boxes were listed. Oh, I had forgotten about the days of making the perfect Valentine box. In the meantime Breezy decided she wanted a strawberry box. Liberty then decided on a Watermelon. I learned from this experience that there are several ways to think. I had envisioned a half circle watermelon box and after sending Drew out to help me, he brought in a triangle slice of watermelon. HMM. Anyway, we set out to have a great time modge podging different shades of pink tissue paper on the boxes. Liberty even said It was the best day ever. Funny how just spending time can be the best day ever! Our boxes were a big hit and fun to do together.

Funny Kids

You've heard that kids say the funniest things, right?! I believe it! I think it is one of the joys that I have as mother to hear them try to figure life out.
The first one is Burton. I hear Burton talking to his dad and then I hear him ask where Drew got the hair on his lip. Drew tells him he grew it. Burton doesn't quite understand and Drew is explaining that it grows like the hair on his head. Well, then Burton asks where's mine? Drew tells him he can grow it High School and I jump in tell him after his mission. So, Burton goes and tells my mom he is going to grow hair on his lip in High School.

The other day Liberty comes home from school upset because a kid in her class acted up and her teacher got mad. I've seen this kid and it is his goal everyday to be in time out. Not only did he act up in class he said a bad word on the way out to the bus when the teacher wasn't around.
I asked Liberty about the word because she kept bringing it up. Well, He said Holy, Sh....! Oh, I said. Next time you hear that you go tell your bus driver or you tell Mr. Colton (the star tutor that walks them to the bus),or if you don't feel like you can do that I will call the teacher and talk to her. Later, that evening we picked Drew up from work and in the car Liberty was telling her dad about her day at school and about this kid acting up. She got to the part about the bad word and Drew said, "well, what did he say?" " I can't say it was a bad word, Dad." Burton yells, "He said SH...! Dad" So there was our FHE lesson!

Grandpa and Briggs

This is suppose to video of my dad rolling over Briggs.
Help how do I do video clips?!Posted by Picasa

Mack being the funny one for Sunday pics

Mack is a killer. He makes me laugh so hard. The other day in the car I was sick of the noise of the radio so I turned it off to hear the kids talk ( and to threaten them to be nice to each other). Mack talked the whole way to Idaho Falls. He can say BUBBA (thats what we call Burton).
When He flucuates his voice saying Bubba you can totally tell what he means.

Winter Festival in McCall, ID

All around town businesses have incredible snow sculptures on their property. The are very detailed and nothing is left out. One of them that we stopped and walked around was a castle with a ice pond under the draw bridge, complete with look outs with in the castle, snow as tile floors, a king and queen sitting on their throwns, a knight on a horse, and a dragon. Is that the Camelot story?
Saturday afternoon the kids and dads played outside until it got dark. David's parents live down a lane. There is a gentleman David called him Brother Dean that lives farther in than David's parents. Currently, Brother Dean is the only one living on the lane. David's parents still live in New Mexico. Anyway, Brother Dean has an awesome winter yard. He has groomed the entire lane to be a sled run. At the top of the lane he has built up the snow with stairs for the kids to walk up and get to the sled run. Some of the sleds would run the entire length of the lane. I bet it was a good half mile. Then once their sled stop they would walk the entire way back up without crying or complaining. They loved it. Brother Dean also has groomed a hill on the side of the mountain and lined it with Christmas lights for the evening. We didn't tell the kids that or they wouldn't have come in.

Burton with his favorite sled. Once down the hill it would spin and drive him backwards. He loved it!

At noon on Saturday the big parade started down the main street of McCall. The theme was Mardi Gras and they threw beads instead candy. Our kids loved it all but Cooper! He wasn't feeling very well and didnot like his snow clothes. He wanted to be held the whole time. So we didn't stay for the whole parade and beat the rush to go ice skating. This is Liberty showing off to me and falling. I didn't get very many of Liberty hopefully my mom did. My mom is really good at skating and so is Drew. Of course they bragged about growing up doing this. I had forgotten the stories my told of Grandpa Scott making a ice pond around a tree at their home. The family had so much fun. Money well spent!

Our winter getaway was also a chance to sleep over with our cousins in Meridian. My kids were so excited to stay with Sydney and Brooke. Our time with them wasn't long enough. It was fun to see them in their element. We don't take the chance to go to Boise to see them enough. As we were leaving Firth Thursday Burton started looking out the window for their house, and every bus driving down the rural roads as we were driving down the interstate Liberty was convinced was Brooke's bus taking her home.
